Request: "Special Exception in R-1 (single family-5,000 sq. ft. lots) zone to construct a 10,905 sq. ft. addition to existing religious use facility and Variances to modify existing sign as follows: 1) 91 sq. ft. of copy area in lieu of 32 sq. ft.; 2) 11.5 ft. in height in lieu of 8 ft. (NOTE: This request replaces the previous Special Exception approval of 12/6/2001 which allowed the applicant to construct a detached 7,752 sq. ft. daycare facility. The applicant instead wants to construct an addition (attached to existing church building) which will be used as a child daycare and a day school. Also, the applicant wants to raise the height of the existing sign and add 43 sq. ft. of copy area)."

Hearing: "The Staff Report and Recommendation is located on Pages_____ The applicant received special exception approval for this expansion on 12/6/01. However, that approval was for a detached day care facility. Since that time the applicant has decided to attach the structure to the existing sanctuary and to include a day school. That requires a redesign of the original approval and another BZA public hearing. Staff gave its analysis. There were proper buffers on all sides of the property. The BZA concluded the request was reasonable. There was no opposition at the hearing."
