Summary of the decision
VA-05-08-001 — PAUL VISSERS
Request: NE 1/4 of SE 1/4 04-24-28 1.4 acres
Decision: Approved
Hearing: The applicant is requesting to construct a clay tennis court 2 ft. from the side property line in lieu of 10 ft. A 10 ft. high chain link fence covered with opaque screening will surround the tennis court. The applicant is proposing lighting, which will consist of poles approximately 15 to 16 ft. in height and shoe boxed lighting fixtures attached to the top of the poles. The rear of the property is heavily wooded and the location of the tennis court is proposed at 197 ft. from the rear property line.
The applicant stated that the reason for the request and the proposed location of the tennis court was to preserve the trees within this area. The BZA concluded that the request was too excessive and therefore approved the variance at 4 ft. from the side property line.
There was no opposition present at the public hearing.
