Request: Variance in the P-D zoning district to allow a swimming pool 11 ft. from the Normal High Water Elevation (NHWE) line in lieu of 25 ft.
Decision: Approved
Hearing: Staff explained the site plan, showed site photos, and explained that half of the lakefront lots in this neighborhood have existing swimming pools. Staff recommended approval as the NHWE line has moved since the property was platted which confines the area where the pool could be constructed, and there is an existing sea wall which should protect the property from rising waters. The applicant was not present for the hearing and no one spoke in favor or in opposition. The BZA felt it was a reasonable request and approved the variance with the 4 conditions.
