Summary of the decision
VA-19-08-074 — Douglas Cortez
Request: "Variances in the R-1A zoning district as follows:
Decision: Approved
Hearing: "Staff explained that all of the structures currently on the property were there in one form or another when the applicant purchased the property. The larger of the two (2) accessory structures consisted of a L shaped shed with an attached carport. The applicant chose to enclose the carport and place a sliding glass door on it to convert it to 100% storage. They did so without building permits, and a code enforcement officer spotted the work and cited the owner. In enclosing the carport, the applicant did not increase the square footage of accessory floor area. Staff explained that because the subject property is nearly twice the size of the minimum lot area for the R-1A zoning district, it will not appear over built. Staff concluded with the fact that no correspondence in favor or opposition had been received concerning this application.
