Request: "Variances for signage in I-4 zone as follows: 1. Erect pole sign 50 ft. in height in lieu of 30 ft.; 2. Allow 391 sq. ft. of copy area in lieu of 40 sq. ft. (NOTE: The property has only 80 ft. of road frontage. The road frontage on the Bee Line Expressway is not counted as road frontage for signage purposes)."

Hearing: "This is a large property consisting of 48 acres that has no direct frontage onto a public road. The site does have visibility to traffic traveling on the Bee Line Expressway. The applicant hosts many local, national and international events and water sports training. They also provide training for local charitable causes. The complex has no on-site advertisement or messaging to advise the public on their location. The height of the sign is needed due to the high bridge embankment on the east side of the expressway, and the fact the sign cannot be moved further away from the embankment due to a private use restriction per deed on the western side of the property. The size is needed in part to ensure large enough lettering for fast-moving traffic to see. The sign is designed in good taste. There was no opposition to this request."
