Request: Special Exception in the C-1 zoning district to construct a 160 ft. high monopole communications cell tower.

Decision: Approved

Hearing: Staff noted that the application requires no variances, and if the applicant had been able to find another service provider, the Special Exception would not be needed. It was also stated that due to the proximity of the tower to the high school, the School district was contacted, however they did not wish to comment. The applicant was in agreement with the staff recommendation and conditions of approval. There being no one present to speak for or against the application, the public hearing was closed. The BZA noted that had there been a second carrier on this tower, there would be no need for the Special Exception. The BZA found that all criteria had been met. A motion was made and seconded to recommend approval of the request. The motion was passed unanimously.
