Summary of the decision
VA-20-10-096 — Donna J Willis
Request: Variance in the PD zoning district to allow a screen enclosure with a 0.5 ft. north side setback in lieu of 5 ft.
Decision: Approved
Hearing: SYNOPSIS: Staff discussed the proposal, covering the location of the property, the site plan, and photos of the site. Staff provided an analysis of the six (6) criteria and the reasons for a recommendation for approval. Staff noted that twelve (12) comments were received in support and no (0) comments were received in opposition. The applicant stated that they were approved by the HOA architectural committee, and noted that the design will not be the same as the previous similar approval on the street, in that it will not be arched/domed, but rather will use a mansard style. The BZA was familiar with the area due to the previous case in the area, and felt the case was straightforward. There was no one in attendance to speak in favor or in opposition to the request. The BZA unanimously recommended approval of the variance, subject to the four (4) conditions in the staff report.
