Summary of the decision
5/4/2000 #7 — WAYNE & JOAN SHELTON - APRIL 6, 2000
Request: (NW 1/4 5-20-28 Tract Size: 34 acres
Decision: Partial Approval
Hearing: This case was continued from the April 6, 2000, meeting. The applicant met with the surrounding neighbors. He agreed to replace his single-wide mobile homes with double-wide mobile homes. He had concerns about the Staff condition which required a 700 foot separation between each mobile home. Staff informed the BZA of the intent of the condition.
There were seven (7) area residents in the audience who had concerns about the request. A spokesperson spoke on their behalf. He stated the residents would prefer one (1) home per 10 acres in this area.
The BZA felt this site deserved the same rights as other rural sites in the County. They tried very hard to arrive at a fair compromise. They imposed seven (7) restrictions that constituted a compromise. These restrictions are not typically imposed on past family lot provisions but they did address the concerns.
