SE-01-04-027 — Frederick H. Hovarter
Request: In a R-1A zone to allow existing accessory building (garage) to remain with the following variances: 1. 507 sq. ft. in size in lieu of 500 sq. ft.; 2. 5.7 ft from side (north) property line in lieu of 7.5 ft. (NOTE: Applicant is trying to resolve Code Enforcement Division citation)
Decision: Approved
Hearing: This request was the result of Code Enforcement action. The subject structure was built without permits. Staff was concerned about the potential use of the structure in that the applicant's initial indications were to convert the building into an apartment. The applicant stated the building was already in existence when he purchased the property. He stated he understood that the current zoning would not allow the apartment use. He stated the building has a garage door on one side, and he uses the building to store and work on his car. He promised the BZA it would only be used for storage purposes. The applicant agreed to abide by the conditions. There was no opposition to this request.
