Request: Variance in P-D zone to convert existing screen room into a permanent room addition to single family residence 19 ft. from rear property line in lieu of 25 ft.

Hearing: The applicant has a 10' x 36' screened porch at the back of her house. The screened porch is allowed the 19 foot setback per code. Permanent room additions must meet the full building setback of 25 ft. Therefore, the applicant needed a variance to allow the conversion to a permanent room in the same location. The encroachment amount is minimal (only 6 feet), and the rear yard abuts an open space area versus other neighbors' homes. Therefore, there is no detrimental impact. There was no public opposition to this request.
