Request: Special Exception and Variance in the A-2 zoning district as follows: 1) Special Exception: To construct a 3,000 sq. ft. religious use facility (sanctuary) to accommodate up to 150 members; and, 2) Variance to permit grassed parking and driving aisle in lieu of paved.

Decision: Approved

Hearing: The applicant is proposing a new sanctuary of 3,000 sq. ft. Staff indicated that it had received two correspondence in support of the request and none in opposition. Staff noted that the date in Condition #1 should be amended from August 13, 2016 to October 4, 2016, as a new and improved site plan was submitted on that date. The applicant indicated that they were in agreement with the staff recommendation and all of the conditions. The BZA noted that the lack of opposition was important to consider and the request was reasonable for this location. There was no opposition at the hearing.
