After a site visit was conducted, staff had concerns with regard to the second story addition being incompatible with a subdivision comprised of one-story homes and establishing a precedent for other requests in the area. Furthermore, there is adequate space in the rear yard to construct a one-story addition while still adhering to required setbacks. In response to these concerns, the applicant submitted a revised site plan, floor plan, and building elevations for a single-story accessory dwelling unit. The applicant submitted a petition containing 8 signatures from neighbors in support of this request. Staff received 1 commentary in favor and 1 commentary in opposition.
