Request: Variance in P-D zone to construct screen room addition to single family residence 10 ft. from rear property line in lieu of 15 ft.

Decision: Approved

Hearing: The applicant wants to build an addition onto the rear of her house that would utilize screening and removable acrylic window panels. In response to a question asked by a Board member, the applicant assured the BZA this is not and would not be turned into a permanent room addition. The BZA added a condition to ensure that would not happen. Several letters and commentaries were submitted in favor, including those from abutting property owners. Based on the size and height of the addition being very minimal, and the amount of distance between it and the closest neighboring home, the BZA felt the request would not have a detrimental impact in the area and therefore approved the request with the condition.
