Hearing: The applicant is requesting a special exception to permit conversion of an existing accessory structure into an Accessory Dwelling Unit, and variances: to locate the ADU 48.5 ft. from the Normal High Water Elevation (NHWE) of Lake La Grange in lieu of 50 ft.; and to locate the ADU 4.7 ft. from the side (east) property line in lieu of 7.5 ft. The applicant stated that they are not altering the outside of the building, and are adding sliding glass doors on the inside of the garage doors. They also intend to install a package A/C unit on the interior (west) side. The resident is an elderly woman who recently lost her husband and does not want to live alone, and wants her son close by. The unit will only be used for family, and never be a rental. Members of the public spoke against the application, stating. They were against the increased density on the property.
