Summary of the decision
SE-16-09-109 — BROOKS A. STICKLER, P.E.
Request: Special Exception in the R-3 zoning district to add 56 parking spaces for adjacent commercial use (Trader Joes)
Decision: Approved
Hearing: The applicant is proposing a parking deck to accommodate fifty-six (56) additional parking spaces for the Trader Joes Food Store. Staff gave a brief presentation and indicated there was a thick vegetated buffer along the west property line that should be preserved. It will act as a buffer for the homes to the west. The applicant agreed to the conditions. One resident from the neighborhood to the north spoke. He was in favor of the request. The applicant volunteered to enhance the vegetative landscape buffer by adding more trees. The BZA approved the request and there was no opposition at the hearing.
