Request: Special Exception in R-1 (single family-5,000 sq. ft. lots) zone to allow child day care facility (already operating) and Variance to allow grassed parking (already existing) in lieu of paved. (NOTE: No new construction proposed for day care facility. The day care facility has been operating since 1992 and is located inside the existing fellowship hall building. There will be no access to Martin Street).

Decision: Approved

Hearing: The Staff Report and Recommendation is located on Pages_____ The applicant objected to staff¿s recommendations for a 6-foot high masonry wall, and poly-vinyl-coated fencing. He stated that the adjacent property owners did not want any kind of buffering from the subject property. The applicant agreed to keep the 6-foot high chain link fence around the playground, and stated that he would screen the solid waste storage area in the rear of the subject property with three 6-foot high masonry walls. There was no one present to object to or support this request. The Board unanimously approved this request and stated that a 6-foot high masonry wall and poly-vinyl-coated fencing was not necessary for this property. However, it did agree with Staff¿s recommendation for landscaping.
