Summary of the decision
VA-04-01-102 — Neva Kelaher
Request: Variance in R-1A (single family-7,500 sq. ft. lots) zone to construct addition to single family residence 23 ft from front property line in lieu of 25 ft.
Decision: Approved
Hearing: The applicant wants to convert the existing carport into additional living area for the house. The amount of Variance is very minimal (2 feet). BZA felt the amount requested would not have a detrimental impact on neighboring properties. Staff informed the BZA that parking spaces would be lost as a result of the carport conversion. The condition was suggested to ensure the remainder of the driveway would be preserved for parking spaces to avoid cars parked in the yard or along the County right-of-way. The applicant agreed to the condition. There was no opposition present at this hearing.
