Request: Special Exception in R-1 and R-CE zones to expand existing church use, attendant educational and recreational facilities AND Variance to construct buildings up to 45 ft. in height and to provide grass parking. (NOTE: The applicant proposes a Master Plan for the site which will be constructed in 4 phases over a 10-15 year time frame).

Hearing: The Staff Report and Recommendation is located on Pages 112, 113 and 114. This case was first heard by the BZA on May 3, 2001. Since then, the applicant, staff, the district BZA appointee and the surrounding neighbors met to resolve outstanding issues. It was agreed the applicant would proceed with only Phase 1 of the project and defer the future Phases for a later date. Staff presented the conditions of approval as agreed by all parties. The applicant asked for minor changes to some of the conditions. Two (2) residents to the north asked for additional changes to the conditions. The BZA agreed with the suggested changes.
