VA-01-11-096 — Roy & Hazel Jones
Request: Variances in A-1 zone to allow mobile home to remain with existing single family residence as follows: 1. On 1/2 acre of land area in lieu of 2 acres; 2. 8 ft. from side property line on the east in lieu of 10 ft.; 3. 41 ft. from rear property line in lieu of 50 ft. (NOTE: Mobile home is for applicant's grandson).
Decision: Approved
Hearing: The applicant placed a mobile home on the property for her son to care for his ill father. The applicant submitted a letter from the family doctor which documents the fathers illnesses. The BZA inquired as to why the next door neighbor was opposed to this request. The applicant stated that she and her neighbor disagree on various private matters. She stated the mobile was on the property prior to her neighbor moving in next door. The BZA felt the request constitutes a true medical hardship. There was no opposition at the hearing.
