Summary of the decision

SE-01-04-025 — Spectrasite Communications

Request: Special Exception in R-3 zone for camouflaged communications tower (pine tree design) 140 ft. in height.

Decision: Approved

Hearing: The Staff report and recommendation is located on Pages 54, 55 and 56. The applicant worked with Marilyn MacKenzie, president of the Greenbriar Homeowner's Association, on developing condition #6 of the Special Exception approval. The association involves homeowners residing to the south across Raeford Road. The association requested the applicant plant pine trees around the the tower's lease area. They also wanted a horizontal landscape buffer between the tower and the homes; the plant types and location were the result of an agreement between the association and SpectraSite. There was no opposition to this request.
