Request: Variances in the R-1 zoning district as follows: 1) To construct a 750 sq. ft. accessory building (garage) in lieu of 500 sq. ft.; and, 2) To construct a 5 ft. high fence along the front of the property in lieu of 4 ft.

Decision: Approved

Hearing: Staff gave a presentation on the case, covering the location of the fence and garage, the site plan and photos. The applicant stated they have received additional letters of support from their neighbors. The BZA confirmed there was no HOA and other properties had fences in the front yard. The BZA was concerned about the type of fence and wanted a 5th condition added stating that the fence shall be consistent with the design submitted. Staff received 3 commentaries in favor of the application and none in opposition. There was no opposition at the hearing. The BZA approved the variance with the addition of condition number 5.
