Request: Variances in R-CE (single family-1 acre lots) zone as follows: 1) Construct addition to single family residence 6 ft. from side property line (north) in lieu of 10 ft; 2) Construct addition (garage) to single family residence 3 ft. from side property line (north) in lieu of 10 ft. and 25 ft. from front property line (east) in lieu of 35 ft.; 3) Construct detached accessory building (carport) in front of the principal building, 2 ft. from front property line (east) in lieu of 35 ft., and 1 ft. from side property line (south) in lieu of 5 ft.

Decision: Approved

Hearing: Because of the irregularly-shaped nature of the lot, the Board¿s approval of similar variances in the past, the similarity with the character of many of the homes in the neighborhood, and the fact that it will add to the aesthetics of the home, staff recommended approval of this request. There was one person (a homeowner two streets away from the subject property) present to object to this request. The person objecting claimed the proposed additions would impede her view of Lake Down. The applicant submitted a list of homeowners in the community in support of the request. The Board unanimously approved this request.
