Request: Variance in the R-1AA zoning district to construct an accessory structure (garage) to be located in front of the principal residence in lieu of along side or rear.

Decision: Approved

Hearing: Staff noted that the subject property was very irregularly shaped, and determining what was the side and rear was very challenging. The siting of the house at the angle was discussed. The proposed location would actually appear more as being in the rear of the yard from the street, and would not appear at all out of character. Six (6) neighbors submitted letters or correspondence in support of the request. The applicant stated that they were in agreement with the recommendation and the conditions of approval. There being no one in attendance to speak for or against the request, the public hearing was closed. The Board found that the irregular shape of the lot justified the need for this request.
