Summary of the decision

VA-01-02-009 — Amoco Oil Company

Request: Variance in C-2 zone to erect convenience store 5 feet from rear property line in lieu of 15 feet (NOTE: site is being reconstructed for new gas station with convenience store).

Decision: Approved

Hearing: This is a re-development of an old existing Amoco gas station. By allowing the variance, more room will be made available that will allow for more parking spaces and safe vehicular access and maneuverability on-site. There will be no detrimental impact to the properties abutting the rear, which contain parking lots for Walgreens and Golden Corral Restaurant. In that the proposed variance woud not impact neighboring properties and would improve vehicular circulation on-site, BZA felt this was an approvable request. One letter was received in favor. There was no opposition.
