Summary of the decision
SE-99-12-011 — Ryland Homes - December 2, 1999
Request: Special Exception in A-2 zone to allow an off-site project identification sign (proposed sign located approximately 150 ft. east of proposed subdivision).
Decision: Approved
Hearing: The applicant wants a project identification sign for his new subdivision which is under construction. The size of the sign meets code. Typically, project identification signs are located at the entrance of the project. In this case the entrance is 150 feet west of Bonneville Road. So the applicant wants to enter into an easement agreement with a homeowner to the east, which has frontage on Bonneville Road. Staff supports the request as long as the sign did not obstruct the driveway visibility of the other homeowners along Bonneville Road. Staff suggested a condition to ensure this. There was no opposition at the hearing. Staff received two (2) commentaries in opposition.
