Summary of the decision
SE-07-05-008 — JENNIFER BREITFELLER
Decision: Approved
Hearing: The accessory dwelling unit is for Mr. Breitfeller's mother, who is physically disabled, but still able to produce an income and live with a certain level of independency. The mother is wheelchair-bound, so the house was designed with extra square footage to accommodate for handicapped provisions. For this reason, BZA had no concern with granting the applicant the amount of living area requested (1,298 square feet).
There was no opposition present at the public hearing. Three commentaries were received citing a concern that the dwelling unit might be rented. Staff and the BZA added three additional conditions to address those concerns (Conditions 5, 6, and 7). BZA unanimously approved with the request to include the added conditions.
