Request: Special Exception in A-1 (agricultural) zone for wood recycling operation, including wood chipping, mulching, and composting in conduction with existing commercial business (Raynor Shine Tree Service, Inc.)

Hearing: "The Staff Report and Recommendation is located on Pages____ The applicant started a wood recycling facility without proper land use, occupational and building permits. The site had been operating for approximately 8 months prior to the hearing. The Board heard from several opposition speakers regarding their concerns such as, but not limited to, incompatibility with the surrounding area, the close proximity to residential neighborhoods, noise generated from the facility and traffic. The Board also had concerns regarding the history of the applicant within the City of Ocoee for the same type of facility and they also received a letter of concern from the City of Winter Garden. The Board felt that this particular location was not an appropriate for the type of facility the applicant was proposing. Twelve people spoke in opposition to this request."
