Request: Amendment to an existing Special Exception and Variance in the Restricted P-O zoning district as follows: 1) Amendment to a Special Exception for a religious institution to allow a 2,470 sq. ft. expansion, including a new sanctuary for a total of 90 seats, a new fellowship hall and offices. 2) Variance to allow grass parking spaces in lieu of paved.

Hearing: SYNOPSIS: Staff described the proposal, including the location of the property, the site plan, and photos of the site. Staff provided an analysis of the six (6) criteria and the reasons for a recommendation for approval. Staff noted that no comments were received in support, and no comments were received in opposition. The applicant had nothing to add. The BZA confirmed that the septic will not interfere with the new construction and noted that the proposed construction will not be seen and that the grass parking will reduce run off. There was no one in attendance to speak in favor or in opposition to the request. The BZA discussed the Special Exception and Variance and stated justification for the six (6) criteria and unanimously recommended approval by a 5-0 vote, with one absent and one vacant, subject to the nine (9) conditions found in the staff report.
