Request: Variance in R-1A (single family-7,500 sq. ft. lots) zone to construct garage addition to single family residence 4.2 ft. from front property line in lieu of 25 ft.

Decision: Approved

Hearing: The applicant wants to add a garage addition onto the front of his house. The addition will be 4 feet from the front property line. There is still sufficient green area between the front of the addition and the actual street. Staff voiced concerns about the precedent this would set for the Windermere Downs Subdivision. The applicant stated there would be 38 feet between the end of the garage and the actual street. The President of the Windermere Downs Homeowners Association spoke in favor and he submitted a letter stating he was in support. The BZA concluded the request was practical in that there was still sufficient space between the street and the end of the garage.
