Request: Variances in the R-1A zoning district to construct single family residence as follows: 1) 20 ft. from front property line in lieu of 25 ft.; and, 2) 12 ft. from rear property line in lieu of 30 ft. (Note: The subject lot is odd-shaped.)

Decision: Approved

Hearing: The BZA agreed that the odd shaped lot is a hardship and that such properties are why the variance process exists. The BZA concluded that no special privilege is requested, but denial would be a deprivation of rights, and it does meet the criteria for a variance. Staff received no commentaries in favor of the application and eight (8) in opposition. There was no opposition at the hearing.
