Summary of the decision

VA-21-06-028 — Tcc Construction (Devon Tully)

Request: Variances in the R-1 zoning district as follows: 1) To allow a 154 sq. ft. addition (front porch) to a residence with a north front setback of 15.9 ft. in lieu of 25 ft. 2) To allow the existing house to remain with a 3.5 ft. west side setback in lieu of 6 ft. This is the result of Code Enforcement action.

Decision: Approved

Hearing: SYNOPSIS: Staff described the proposal, including the location of the property, the site plan, and photos of the site. Staff provided an analysis of the six (6) criteria and the reasons for a recommendation for approval. Staff noted that one (1) comment was received in support and no comments were received in opposition. The applicant had nothing to add and stated that they went along with the recommendation. The BZA felt that the case was straightforward and noted that the house was originally built with a non-conforming setback. The BZA recommended approval of the variance by a 7-0 vote, subject to the four (4) conditions in the staff report.
