Summary of the decision
SE-15-11-101 — BENJAMIN PAULUHN
Request: Special Exception in P-D zoning district to allow an attached Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU)
Decision: Approved
Hearing: The applicant is requesting approval of a Special Exception in a P-D zoning district to have an attached Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU). Staff noted that they are planning on constructing a new home, and that they will modify the floor plan to convert an area shown as a media center into the kitchen and living area for the applicant's mother. The ADU will not be perceptible from the exterior of the home. The applicant was in agreement with the staff recommendation and all conditions propose by staff. There being no one in attendance to speak for or against this request. The BZA found that given the size of the subject property, and the fact that the ADU is attached, it will blend well into the area. A motion was made and seconded to approve the request.
