Hearing: The residence is an older home located in the Dubsdread area. There is no room in back of the house for expansion due to the location of the septic tank and drainfield. The applicant needs additional space for visiting family members during inclement weather. The proposed screened porch is reasonably sized (10 ft. in depth), and the amount of encroachment is minimal (5 ft.). The homes on either side sit further into the front setback than the subject residence, so there would be no impact to those homes. There were several commentaries received in favor; there was no opposition.
