Request: Special Exception in a R-1AA zone to place four (4) modular offices/educational buildings on existing church use site.

Decision: Approved

Hearing: The staff report is located on Pages 57 and 58. Staff was concerned about the use of modular buildings on a permanent basis. Neighboring residents also expressed the same concern in writing. One resident from the subdivision to the east addressed the BZA at the public hearing with the same concern as well. In response, the applicant's senior pastor stated the church has had tremendous growth, and that they plan to relocate to another property in about five years. He agreed to remove the modular units within that time frame or at the time they move. The opposition agreed to the time frame for removal. The applicant asked for a minor modification to the condition regarding the buffer on the west property line. He indicated that is a very large area and asked that it be narrowed down. He agreed the church would maintain a 15-foot wide section, as suggested by staff.
