Request: Variance in R-1A (single family 7,500 sq. ft. lots) zone to construct garage addition to single family residence 16 ft. from front property line in lieu of 25 ft.

Decision: Approved

Hearing: The applicant has a single-car garage and wants to build a new garage in front of it for a two-car garage. The setback proposed would not cause an aesthetic impact to the neighborhood. However, once built, there is very little space left in the driveway for additional vehicular parking. Staff proposed a condition to ensure sufficient parking is always available on the property in order to avoid parking in the front lawn or on the street. The applicant agreed to the condition. There was no public opposition to the request.
