Summary of the decision

VA-04-03-128 — Stephen D. Korshak/Land Trust 9281

Request: Variance in R-CE (single family-1 acre lots) zone to allow existing accessory building (barn) to remain in front of principal residence (under construction). (NOTE: The barn was existing when applicant purchased the property. He is constructing a new residence and wants existing barn to remain).

Decision: Approved

Hearing: The applicant wants to rebuild his home on the site. There is an existing barn in the front yard. A variance is required to allow an accessory building in front of the main house. Staff inspected the area and informed the BZA the subject barn is not visible from any public right-of-way. In addition, the adjacent neighbors submitted letters in favor. Staff concluded the request is minimal. There was no opposition.
