Hearing: SYNOPSIS: Staff described the proposal, including the location of the property, the site plan, and photos of the site. Staff provided an analysis of the six (6) criteria and the reasons for a recommendation for denial. Staff noted that five (5) comments that includes one from the Homeowner¿s Association were received in favor of the request, and one (1) comment was received in opposition to the request. The applicant and team discussed the staff recommendation of denial, noting the reason for the design and configuration is to provide privacy, accommodations for family, and to preserve the green space for activities. There was no one in attendance to speak in favor or in opposition to the request. The BZA discussed the request determining the proposed additions appears to be considerably distant from the road, provides the best strategy for egress into the main house, and there are no negative impacts to the surrounding area. The BZA unanimously recommended approval of the Variances by a 6-0 vote, with one absent, subject to the three (3) conditions found in the staff report.
