Summary of the decision

VA-00-01-001 — Deborah Mockabee-Allen

Request: Variance in A-1 zone to erect additions to single family residence as follows: 1. 31.7 ft. from front (east) property line in lieu of 35 ft.; 2. 22 ft. from front (east) property line in lieu of 35 ft.

Decision: Approved

Hearing: The property is located within the Hull Island Estates subdivision, a small development platted in the early 1960's. The subdivision was administratively rezoned from R-1A to A-1 in 1982 due to density consistencies recommended by the Growth Management Policy. The house ws built in 1961, prior to the administrative rezoning. Had the zoning not changed, Variance #1 wuld not be necessary, and #2 would only required a 3 ft. variance. The additions requested are nonsubstantial in nature and will be located on-site in a manner that will not detrimentally impact neighboring properties. There was no opposition to this request.
