Summary of the decision

VA-04-02-128 — Yolonda Harrell-Jones

Request: Variances in R-1A (single family-7,500 sq. ft. lots) zone to create two substandard size lots as follows: 1) 60 ft. of lot width in lieu of 75 ft.; 2) 7,200 sq. ft. of lot area in lieu of 7,500 sq. ft.; 3) 25 ft. rear yard setbacks in lieu of 30 ft.

Decision: Approved

Hearing: Variance #3 was for a setback that the applicant inadvertently stated in her cover letter. The site plan accurately reflected the correct setback. Therefore, the BZA denied that particular Variance which sets the record straight. Variance #1 and #2 are consistent with two other Variance approvals for new home construction in the Taft area on the same sized lots. There was no opposition at the public hearing.
