Summary of the decision

VA-00-11-013 — Larry Spade

Request: Variance in R-1A zone to create two (2) substandard sized lots to accommodate a single family residence on each lot with 50 ft. lot width in lieu of 75 ft.

Decision: Approved

Hearing: The applicant wants to create two 50 ft. wide lots. Staff gave its technical analysis. Several similar variances were granted in this subdivision. In addition similar sized lots were directly across the street. Staff received 4 commentaries in favor and 3 in opposition. The BZA approved the request for the following reasons: (a) other similar variances were granted in this subdivision (b) no trees will be impacted ( c) the site abuts a golf course (d) approval would not establish a precedent and (e) there was no opposition present.
