Request: Special Exception in C-2 zone for co-located camouflaged communication tower (flag pole) and Variance to allow camouflaged tower within 229 feet of multifamily residential units to the East (Colony East Apartments) in lieu of 350 feet.
Decision: Approved
Hearing: The Staff Report and Recommendation is located on Pages 39, 40 and 41. Nextel's BZA application had been amended to change the tower's height from 120 to 140 feet in order to accommodate Cingular Wireless' antennas. The site plan drawing of the flag pole, however, was not amended to reflect that four users could now be located on the tower as a result of the increase in height. Therefore, the BZA added condition #5 which requires the tower be constructed to support four users. There was no opposition to this request.
