Request: Variances in R-1AA (single family-10,000 sq. ft. lots) zone to construct additions to single family residence as follows: 1) 24 ft. from the Normal High Water Elevation of Lake Holden in lieu of 35 ft.; and 2) Construct porch addition 23 ft. from the front property line in lieu of 30 ft.

Decision: Approved

Hearing: The applicant wants to construct a 2-story addition consisting of a room, bonus room, and porch 24 ft. from the NHWE of Lake Holden in lieu of 35 ft. and to build a porch addition to the front of his home 23 ft. from the front property line in lieu of 30 ft. Eight other variances with respect to setbacks have been approved along 37th Street. The applicant submitted a letter of approval from the homeowners associations and 24 letters of support from all the residents along 37th Street. The Orange County Environmental Protection Division reviewed and recommended approval of this request without the installation of a pollution abatement swale. There was no opposition to this request.
