Request: Special Exception in R-1 (single family-5,000 sq. ft. lots) zone to convert VFW post into a religious use facility and Variance to provide unpaved parking in lieu of paved.

Decision: Approved

Hearing: The Staff Report and Recommendation is located on Pages____. We advised the BZA that the applicant had been working very closely with staff to prepare a revised site plan to ensure the property would be properly renovated per Code requirements and to ensure compatibility with the surrounding area. As a result of those discussions, a revised site plan was submitted. Except for a couple of minor parking features, the revised site plan was acceptable to staff, and a set of corresponding conditions for approval were consequently drafted for recommendation to BZA. There was no public opposition present at the BZA hearing. A representative of the VFW post addressed the BZA and requested approval of the request. The applicant agreed to all the conditions proposed by staff. The request was unanimously approved by the BZA per the revised site plan and conditions.
