Hearing: Variance in R-1A to permit a covered RV shelter 10 ft. from side street line in lieu of 15 ft. Staff noted that most homes on Lotafun Ln. are located in the front setbacks, and that a variance had been granted to a property two doors to the east to allow a 5 ft. setback in lieu of 25 ft. also a 7 to 8 ft. tall hedge which currently screens the RV which is already being parking on the property. Staff indicated that a condition was included that, should the application be approved, the shrubs be retained or, if removed, replaced by an opaque fence. Staff noted that it had received two correspondence in objection. However, these homes were owned by persons who resided in Orlando and Altamonte Springs, and neither home was a homesteaded property. BZA found that the request was reasonable and would be consistent with the pattern of development on the street. However, it amended Condition #3 regarding the replacement fence should the hedge ever be removed, the required height to be8 ft.
