Request: Special Exception in A-2 zone for charter school (grades 9 through 12) and private school with academic curriculum in conjunction with church use.

Decision: Approved

Hearing: The Staff Report and Recommendation is located on Pages 51 and 52. The applicant submitted a revised plan which showed a minor alteration to the orientation of the modular buildings. Staff and BZA indicated a concern about the use of modular buildings on a permanent basis, when in fact they are typically used for temporary purposes. The pastor of the church stated the modular buildings would be brand new and not have aluminum siding. He stated the church school would need to have the use of the modular for a few years until they were able to build the church's new multipurpose building. The BZA indicated that new modulars would be acceptable, knowing that the church would prefer to spend funds on the new construction versus refurbishing aging modulars. There was no opposition to this request.
