Request: Special Exception in R-1A (single family-7,500 sq. ft. lots) zone to expand existing religious use facility and Variance to allow unpaved parking in lieu of paved. (NOTE: The applicant wants to expand their existing church by 2,008 sq. ft. Seating will increase from 90 to 175).

Decision: Approved

Hearing: At the public hearing, a citizen spoke in opposition. During the discussion, it came to staff's attention the citizen may be the owner of one of the lots proposed by the church for its expansion project. Documentation by both the citizen and applicant revealed an apparent conflict in the ownership of that lot. Therefore, the BZA continued the hearing until such time as the parties could seek outside counsel and determine legal ownership of the property in question.
