Summary of the decision
VA-17-07-066 — PAUL PANZARELLA
Request: Variance in the P-D zoning district to construct a pool, pool deck and pool screen enclosure 2.5 ft. from the rear property line in lieu of 5 ft. (Note: The property backs up to a retention area).
Decision: Approved
Hearing: Staff gave a presentation on the case covering the location of the pool, the site plan and photos. The applicant stated that when they bought the property, the builder told them they could build the pool right to the property line. The BZA inquired about other variances in the area and asked about flooding concerns. Staff stated the adjacent pond was man made and contained outlets to retention ponds, so there were no flooding concerns. Staff received no commentaries in favor of, or in opposition to the application. There was no opposition at the hearing. The BZA approved the variance.
