Request: "Variances in R-CE zone to erect single family residence as follows: 1. 16,552 sq. ft. in land area (.38 acres) in lieu of 43,560 sq. ft. (1 acre); 2. 28 ft. from front (north) property line in lieu of 35 ft.; 3. 17 ft. from rear (south) property line in lieu of 50 ft."

Hearing: "The applicant wants to sell the parcel for the construction of a home. The proposed house size was 3000 sq. ft. Due to the size of the home, the front and rear yard setbacks cannot be met. The applicant stated the request would allow for an enhancement in this area. He stated that several of his neighbors support the request. The property owner to the south spoke in opposition. She stated they wanted to purchase the parcel so her mother could build a house on it. In addition, she felt the size of the home was too large for the parcel and would encroach on her privacy. The District #1 BZA member broke from the meeting and helped negotiate a compromise. The parties reconvened and agreed on a compromise which was stipulated in the conditions. Staff received eight (8) commentaries in favor and none in opposition."
