Request: Special Exception in R-T-2 (mobile homes/single family homes) zone for a detached Accessory Dwelling Unit (mobile home) for applicant's daughter and grandchildren.

Decision: Approved

Hearing: The Staff Report and Recommendation is located on Pages____ The applicant is requesting to locate a detached accessory dwelling unit (mobile home) on the rear of the property for his daughter and grandchildren. At the previous hearing in August, there was a question as to the number of mobile homes on-site and whether the travel trailers were also mobile homes being utilized as living units. After subsequent on-site research, it was verified that the owner did have two separate units within the front half of the property. The site also had a double wide unit located in the rear yard which is the focus of the request. At the hearing the board also discussed the issue of the travel trailers and the applicant stated that they are not used for living purposes and he has obtained permits for storage of the vehicles on-site. After discussions with the board the applicant agreed that there will be no more than two living units located on the property. There was no opposition to the request at the public hearing however 8 commentaries were received with 5 in opposition; 2 favorable and 2 with no opinion.
