Summary of the decision
VA-00-01-009 — Jim Dan Burket
Request: Variance in A-2 zone to park mobile home on 1.42 acres of land in lieu of 2 acres.
Decision: Approved
Hearing: The area is a mixture of remnant A-2 zoning and R-T-2 zoning. A-2 is an agricultural farmland district that allows mobile homes on a minimum of two acres. R-T-2 is a combination conventional dwelling and mobile home district with a minimum one-half acre requirement. There are mobile homes and conventional dwellings alike located in the neighborhood. Some of the mobile homes are on A-2 parcels of less than two acres that have been "grandfathered-in". The request is consistent with the CPP Future Land Use Designation (Low Density; four dwelling units per one acre), and the existing and anticipated trend of development in the area. There was no opposition to this request.
